Evaluating: "Belief vs True Self Belief"🦉
NBF #1 What's going on? What's the difference? Why? Category: Philosophy
Belief.
What do you believe in?
Why?
How can you believe in something?
What’s so “true” about it?
“Don’t tell me anything culty.”
Seriously!
Wait…
Relax, we are not here to spiral down into another rabbit hole on the internet.
We are going to break it down.
Simple & readable!
1. Belief
Google it. What did you find?
The subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. defines it like this:
noun
an acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without proof.
trust, faith, or confidence in (someone or something).
Cliché & boring wordcel. Okay.
Before we rotate some shapes, let’s think about all the possible definitions.
Belief… that upon which a man is prepared to act & their most valuable trait is a judicious sense of what not to believe.
Most of the time, these beliefs become too strong or disbelief.
Belief > actions > profound consequences = Good and Bad.
Conventionally, we assume it’s impossible to distinguish “knowledge” from “belief” in a meaningful way.
We mistake misunderstanding the difference between “believing” something and “knowing” something.
To understand the sequence/storyline, let’s explore the Syntax of Belief.
We will come back to the explanation for the figure later. See next section: 2. True Belief.
Some of us refer to our beliefs as “theories.”
It’s evident because we construct a narrative or a theory about our everyday experiences.
How do you evaluate theories?
Scientific theories often have to pass a strict test with statistical significance for proof.
Personal theories about our everyday experiences struggle because of external stimuli & lack of brain processing power.
For us, it takes time.
Do you have a lot of time left?
Of course not. In short:
Knowledge from beliefs = declarative
Most of the time, we understand through the prism of declarative sentences.
The fig. Syntax of Belief is represented as sentence-like forms (sequential) in a language of thought.
What can we do to input our desired output as beliefs?
You can’t.
But you must know that the crucial part is understanding how our beliefs should be tentative and changeable. (In 2. True Belief, you will find out why)
Physicist & the author of ‘The Beginning of Infinity,’ David Deutsch, once wrote:
“Reality is out there: objective, physical and independent of what we believe about it. But we never experience that reality directly. Every last scrap of our external experience is of virtual reality. And every last scrap of our knowledge —including our knowledge of the non-physical worlds of logic, mathematics and philosophy, and of imagination, fiction, art and fantasy —is encoded in the form of programs for the rendering of those worlds on our brain’s own virtual-reality generator. It’s not just science—reasoning about the physical world —that involves virtual reality. All reasoning, all thinking and all external experience are forms of virtual reality.”
Everywhere you go and every other way you possibly try to understand what “belief” is, it can get stretched with nuances.
So, let’s proceed to the next and final section.
2. True Self Belief🦉
Yes, you are lucky!
After all of the basic definitions of Belief,
Let’s dive into what Belief “actually” is.
How does it work in a more practical sense?
The existential crisis that began in the last century still sucks us into the dark ages of “nihilism.”
Patriotism & religion as a collective belief system is weakening when coupled with the 20th-century & 21st-century nihilism.
We took a lot of things off the table that used to keep us moving.
The alarming rate of depression, loss of meaning & self-harm in the 21st century is a piece of evidence.
Now, we will embark on a courageous journey to define the life cycle of belief in a human system.
Remember:
“Courage is an honest commitment to noble ideals. The brave don’t despair. They believe. They are not cynical, they care. They think there is stuff worth dying for—that good and evil exist. They know that life has problems but would rather be part of the solution than a bystander.” - Ryan Holiday: ‘Courage is Calling’
Let’s get started!
What is confusion?
In electronic terms: A divided power circuit.
Poor signal-to-noise ratio.
Syntax of True Belief
Cause + Effect + Meaning + Time = “True Belief”
A man goes through “THREE” phases of transformations for their
“TRUE BELIEF SYSTEM”.
Phase 1
0-1 Dimensions.
The beginning of realization.
Age ~ 5-14.
Their beliefs are trying to unify and be coherent but
They become ignorant.
Incapable of comprehending reality & dimensionally challenged.
Not yet aware of free will and choice.
No conscience.
Barely a conscious being.
Reckless.
Phase 2
2-Dimensional (2D).
Compartmentalized belief system.
Early realizations.
Mostly questions: “What?” and “How?”
Only “knowing” and “doing.”
Slightly aware of their ignorance.
The curse of “Binary thinking”:
Black & White, Good & Bad, Right & Wrong, Red & Blue, This & That.
Helps the development of consciousness.
Improved conscience.
Suddenly becomes aware of the complex system of reality.
Aware of their results (mostly faults & negatives).
Presents an opportunity to make choices to do good or bad (outcome).
Ability to do “the good” & “the bad.”
Mild-moderate awareness of free will & choice.
A crucial phase for navigating the complex and uncharted higher dimensional system of beliefs in the future.
Lays the foundations for their character and values.
Attempting to “know” and “remember” the accuracy of their thoughts and actions results.
In 2D,
They rely heavily on their past ability and experiences.
Mostly memorization and knowing.
Often have prepared and orchestrated answers to situations.
It’s almost impossible to comprehend the “reality” (understood to be 3D) with a 2D (binary) system of beliefs when it is rendered and processed in a 3D vector space-time (world). It lacks its depth and substance.
Phase 3
3-Dimensional (3D)
Final destination and integration.
Superposition of understanding and knowledge.
Stronger, unified, and aware of their ignorance.
Moderate to high-level traits of “superior consciousness.”
Better awareness of complexities, free will, and choice.
Time for intelligent integration of Phase 1, Phase 2 & Phase 3.
Unification.
In 3D,
They rely heavily on their present ability.
Acquire the ability to find and create an answer in real-time (A 3D-to-3D rendering of the objective reality) after being exposed to the situations.
The Birds Eye (Sprezzatura!)
N-Dimensions (N = desired/presented integer)
Mostly automated to reserve cognitive processing power for very high-level abstract thoughts.
Without conscious effort.
“Being” and “Doing” coherently.
Unification completed.
Adult, mature, and knows how much one can know.
Important takeaways 📝
Doubt is a double-edged sword.
Ignorance is the intuitive superpower that initiates the journey.
Ask more questions.
Be skeptical.
Challenge ideas and statuses.
Man becomes the problem when there is an absence of a problem.
Ignorance unlocks your brilliance.
The subconscious is intelligent and more thoughtful than you think. It will trick you into helping you gain insights, understand and develop your skills and become your highest self.
Our subconscious mind is always desperate to solve problems. It will assist you by creating a problem for you to solve.
The subconscious mind has plenty of leverage.
To get the outcome you desire, you will need to go on a voyage through the complexity of reality to get it.
To be a genius, you must be a fool.
To have a TRUE BELIEF, you must lose your old “beliefs.”
Yes, the cliché “No pain, No gain” is true.
There are no shortcuts.
SPOILER ALERT 🚨
The reward is not what you get. It’s what you become.
This is the power of True Belief.
Thank you.
